Mattituck Town Then and Now
My Uncle Tom used to manage the town dock.
I hated doing sand sprints up the dunes when training for cross country!
Walking in the sand with bare feet, no problem.
Since I cannot walk on the beach in search of shells, I brought an entire bucket to Virgina that I can search later!
The walking in bare feet ended here, 50 years later I could no longer walk on stones with my bare feet.

Bailey's Beach seen from the Breakwater
Kids still enjoy quiet time together fishing at the breakwater.
Even girls fish in Mattituck!
Outside of Mattituck how many people know the simple pleasure of being with a significant other walking and fishing on the beach?

Orlowski Hardware, my very first job.

The train station across from the Broken Down Valise.
Thanks to Dennis and Donald's Dad, I had a summer job picking cucumbers in this field. I serious doubt kids today would understand how happy I was to have a summer job to make money!
When Richard lived here there was a door to the left of the chimney.
The Tandy's live here now but this used to be my home.
The tall trees and red maple are now gone.
This used to be an oyster shell driveway. I don't think I have forgiven the Tandy's for removing that from my home!
